Jerry Xu

Jerry is a first-year graduate student in the Mayer Lab, where he studies the surface chemistry of porous silicon. A native of North Carolina, he graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill in 2023, where he conducted undergraduate research in the lab of Gerald J. Meyer. At Yale, Jerry is involved in science outreach, and he is a McDougal Graduate Teaching Fellow through the Poorvu Center. In his free time, he enjoys weightlifting, hiking, baking, singing with the Yale Citations, and going to as many concerts as time (and money) allows.
